Strengthening Churches

We desire to strengthen every leader and church in our district to be spirtually healthy, biblically grounded, missionally focused and strategically connected.

How We Strengthen Churches

Here are some ways that the EFCA Texas-Oklahoma District strengthens and supports leaders in the healthy growth and development of their churches.

Cohorts

Relational and ministry connections through a variety of region-based and affinity-based cohorts.

  • Regional Pastor Meetings – Lead Pastors meet regularly in regional cohorts for mutual encouragement and equipping.
  • Ministry Leader Cohorts – Church leaders in similar ministry roles meet regularly for mutual encouragement and equipping (Children, Youth, Hispanic, Small Groups, Pastor Wives)

Conferences & Clinics

Periodic large group events to enable church leaders to fellowship, learn, and worship together.

  • February – District Leadership Conference (networking, plenary sessions, workshops)
  • October – Church Health Clinic (focusing on a topic of cultural, practical, or theological importance)

Care

We provide personal support (encouragement and prayer), as well as a variety of practical services including:

  • 501(c)3 non-profit status
  • District group health insurance (Guidestone)
  • Retirement and long-term disability plans (FCMM)
  • Stewardship campaign services and financing for land and buildings (CIF)
  • Demographic studies for your church
  • Compensation guides for your church

Coaching & Consultation

  • Individual coaching for planters and pastors
  • Church consulting for elder boards and leadership teams
  • Search Team training and candidate placement assistance for churches in pastoral transition
  • Next Level Coaching Network (Advanced coaching program for pastors)

Content

A growing library of quality biblical, theological, and practical ministry resources delivered across a wide variety of platforms to equip church leaders to be faithful and fruitful.

Church Planting

We provide a robust set of field-tested systems and resources to come alongside church planters and established churches as they partner together to get a new congregation off to a healthy start.

Credentialing

We offer ministry Licensing and Ordination as a way to affirm God's call on a peron's life, to provide legal status in the exercise of their ministerial duties, and to help ensure the moral and theological integrity of our movement.
